Unglazed ceramic pie weights are used when pre-baking pie crusts and tart or flan shells, to keep the pastry from shrinking
The ceramic material is an excellent conductor of heat, which ensures even cooking and holds the shell in place during
the baking and cooling process.
Instructions: Line the unbaked pastry with aluminium foil and add a layer of pie weights. Bake as specified in your recipe.
Remove form oven and leave to cool with the weights in place, then simply lift away the foil along with the weights.
To clean, rinse under warm water and allow the weights to dry before returning to the jar/tub.
